Frequently asked questions
How does this actually help us?
Security problems are often invisible until the damage is already done. SWIX gives you a clear, plain-English alert when something changes on your network, and our security team is available to explain what it means and what to do next — you don’t need in-house security expertise.
How do we use it day to day?
You get a secure login to the SWIX dashboard when you sign up, and our team walks you through it. Most customers don’t need to log in often — you’ll hear from us directly when something needs your attention.
I’m interested — what happens next?
Every business is different, so we start with a conversation about what you actually need. Some customers prefer to handle alerts themselves once we’ve flagged them; others want our team to manage the response end to end. We’ll work out what fits.
What if a device leaves the office?
SWIX is cloud-based, so it keeps watching wherever the device goes. A small agent is installed when you sign up and reports back in real time, regardless of location.
Is SWIX Things available yet?
Yes — SWIX Things is live, with native iOS and Android apps. See the SWIX Things page for what it covers, or contact us.
Where is our data stored?
In SWIX’s own data centre, here in New Zealand — owned and operated, not resold space in an offshore cloud. See our Trust & security page for the full detail.
Does any of our data leave New Zealand?
Our aim is that none of it does. Where any third-party service is involved in delivering the product — alert delivery, for instance — we say precisely what stays onshore and what doesn’t, rather than leave the claim unqualified.
Do we need to replace our firewall or IT provider?
No. SWIX works alongside your existing network equipment and IT provider — it adds a layer of continuous monitoring on top, rather than replacing anything you already have.
Will this flood us with alerts?
No. Every event is scored on a severity scale and a person on our team triages it before you ever hear about it. Most events never reach you at all — only the ones that actually need your attention do, explained in plain English. See how the scale works on Trust & security.
What size business is this for?
Businesses with enough exposure to matter, but without an in-house security analyst. If you’re not sure whether that’s you, give us a call and we’ll tell you straight.
How is SWIX priced?
Flat monthly, scoped to the size of your environment — no per-alert or per-incident charges, and no surprise bills. Tell us your device count on a short call and we’ll give you a number.
Do you work with our existing MSP?
Yes. SWIX sits alongside your existing IT provider or MSP — we can route alerts to them, to you, or to both, depending on what you’d prefer.
What exactly does the agent see?
We publish exactly what the agent collects, and what it deliberately doesn’t, on the Trust & security page — you’re installing it on every device in your business, so you should know.
